My name is Charity Hemak. I’m a certified Western Herbalist. I received my certification through Sage Mountain Herb School while studying under a naturopathic doctor in Portland, Oregon. I currently reside in San Diego, California.

What is a Western Herbalist? Western herbalism is a form of the healing arts that draws from herbal traditions of Europe and the Americas, and that emphasizes the study and use of European and Native American herbs in the treatment and prevention of illness.

Like many, my journey began with a health crisis. After seeking the help of several allopathic doctors and misdiagnosis of my symptoms, I sought out the help of a naturopathic doctor who was able to pinpoint the issues within a few minutes. She introduced me to natural medicine and I was able to treat the root issues that caused the symptoms. Through the treatment of using plants and herbs, I began to heal. The results were powerful!

As my journey continued, I began to realize just how powerful plants are. They are the healing agents in pharmaceuticals without a lot of the nasty side effects and fillers. I made lifestyle changes, and watched my body change but I also watched my entire life change. The brain fog I had been experiencing my whole life lifted and it seemed like every part of me was changing for the better. I have become a more overall balanced and healthier person. I eat healthy foods, go hiking and walking. I meditate, and really enjoy yoga. No, I don’t run marathons or meditate 12 hours a day (more like 45 minutes as often as I can). I am a work in progress and I am a happier, healthier me.

Herbal medicine is “medicine for the people”. Anyone can use it, the risks for serious long term damage from plant medicine is minimal to none, which is much better odds that using big pharma drugs. Most people can afford plant medicine and often times are able to make the formulas at home.

Primal Tree is a labor of love. Like any wise wonderful tree, the roots run deep and the branches are many. Primal Tree has many facets and as I continue down this incredible path, those many branches will be taking shape. For the time being, my main focus with Primal Tree is to start at the roots and make my way up to the many branches. The roots are located in passing on the knowledge and wisdom of the plant medicine and working on root causes for the symptoms of the ailments that people face. From there we work on a stronger, healthier trunk, that is a wellness plan. And finally we branch out into formulas and products.

I am so excited to help you make some solid lifestyle changes/choices, to share my knowledge of plant medicine and to provide you with herbal supplements and a helpful custom wellness plan. Thank you for choosing this amazing path and going on this incredible journey. I’m here to help you along the way. Your life is worth celebrating! Let’s celebrate it together.
